unnecessary belt

a fan of simplicity, i'm usually not one for overt accessories; but if one must, a little gap between the belt and a fitted pant conveys a bit of ease.

summer cocktail

just a bit of jovial understatement with similar tie and dress shirt palettes. slight off-hues also work (ie pink with red). enjoy!

the double-pleated short

flat fronts, you've had your day :)

the orthodox skirt

long and black. the trick is to make it look as heavy as possible, while keeping the fabrics cool and breathable.

very understated, unexpected, and tongue-in-cheek in a sea of minis. can pair with black sheer to embolden the look, or a comfy tee or tank to keep warm.

white socks + loafers

if you're feeling playful this summer :)

sequin bermudas

and we thought it only came as tight leggings, or dresses.

keep it casual by pairing with a solid white T and simple shoes (ie discrete sandals or muted loafers).

gold is definitely the color for the summer, but grey or black also work if you prefer subtlety over tongue-in-cheek.

now if i can only find a decent men's pair ;)

shorts + long sleeve dress shirts

the jacket pairing with shorts has been done already. trends tend to be above the knee shorts.

i prefer knee length fitted, and simply a long sleeve dress shirt (no jacket as this is summer after all, and everyone else has a jacket) paired with a simple solid tie. best summer look for men thus far.

the lantern

maybe it's due to the economy that camping has come back as prime activity, or maybe we've simply missed the fresh air but lanterns are everywhere. clothed print, office floor bases, hanging from dining room homes.

it seems they have taken replacement of the more industrial aesthetic of the naked light bulb. the same amount of utility, just a bit warmer and chummy to the eye.

the grandma dress

she's back.

easy, and breezy for spring. very breezy :)

the weathered loafer

go hiking in them.

run your car over them.

or if in the city, place them before your neighborly bus route.

have your dog chew on them.

nothing says i don't care too much about fashion, while still being fashionable than nonchalantly displaying some weathered brown loafers with tongue-in-cheek, amongst the sea of new loafers that have become main street.

the trend now is to go sock-less, but if you feel daring these upcoming summer months, a short length mismatched sock (usually grey/black) to your brown loafer will afford a knowing passerbyer's grin.
